Larry and I have been wearing FXR gear for years actually before all the cool kids started wearing the stuff. I always knew it was good stuff but Saturday was the icing on the cake. We were out at the cabin, the Saskatchewan side of Cypress and it was flippin' cold. We had to haul water that day and we just had our sled gear, we got our first tank hauled no problem. It came to the second tank and we didn't get the fitting just right onto the tank and we had water shooting every where. We had a shower in our gear at minus 18 with the windchill of minus 30. Our gear got absolutely soaked. However, the water just beaded on the outer shell and didn't penetrate the jackets and just froze on the outside. We both stayed nice and comfy dry and warm on the inside.

Hats off to FXR for making some outstanding gear!!!

I have worn FXR vertical mountain pullover jacket, with matching pants all year and love them.

Paid 200 bucks for both pullover and bib pants.. hard to beat that

I've always liked FXR, especially the jackets. lots of pockets and well constructed, never had a zipper fail or any other problems with their products. when they came out with their mountain line I decided to stick with them and bought all new gear, they had some pretty good pricing in their introductory year. so far very pleased with my FXR Mountain gear, they are a Canadian company to boot.

Im glad they make a decent pant and jacket! I have never tried an actual FULL outfit I did however try and run a pair of thier gloves last year, They were the equivelant to a Klim Powercross, A shorty... My hand have never been so cold and wet. They do have some of the nicest looking gear out there by far.. Just have never given them an honest shot but thats probably my own ignorance for buying a bad pair of gloves and getting a bad taste in my mouth about it.

I honestly didn't even know they made gloves!!! Hmmm...I learned something new today too bad you had a shitty experience with them though.

I'm from Manitoba, so have seen FXR stuff around since their inception, I wasn't completely impressed with some of their older stuff (jackets and pants were good, gloves and boots not so much). I now wear a Vapour jacket, Elevation Lite pants and boots, Blade Super Lite helmet, and a couple pairs of gloves.
I can't imagine wearing any other pants or boots than those now, both are amazing and light. The helmet is also one of the most comfortable I've ever had. The jacket has been through hell and back in temperature ranges from above 0 and raining to minus 35 without the wind, . While water is starting to stick to the outside of the jacket (no fault of the jacket, it's been underneath trucks, trailers, and snowmobiles, and a simple wash and reapplication of the waterproofer will fix this) I've yet to be wet on the inside. The exception of where I waited too long to remove layers and was soaked with sweat, but after some layer adjustment, everything was good and still never got cold.
While I've never found a medium insulation glove (I hate bulky) that truly keeps my hands warm and doesn't get soaked at the end of a ride, these are some of the better ones I've used. My favorite so far is the Torque, removable liners that once removed leave medium to light insulation on the outside and just a thin layer in the palm. Best glove I've found for keeping your hands warm yet still allowing great feel and letting the full heat of the warmers in.
I also have the Backshift boots and pants, but for my style of riding and body type, find them way too hot. If you're the type of person who's feet tend to get cold, try out a pair of the Backshift, I could stand around in -40 and my feet would never be cold in these, yet are still fairly light for what they are and have a removable liner.

Can you get better stuff? To a point yes, you can always find better. But you won't find better quality and function for the price. It's very clear their mountain line was designed by mountain riders.

Has anybody tried out the FXR TorqueX helmet and electric visor? Or just the helmet without electric visor? I'm looking into a helmet I can wear goggles on warm days but flip the lid down when it's cold. Too much frostbite on the cheeks last year lol. Also looking at the GMax version of this helmet too. Any advice!? Just wanna make sure it's comfy, decent fit with big frame goggles and the visor seals well and keeps ya warm.
