Anyone else having fuel gauge issues ? I know the fuel gauges are "quirky" and are never 100% accurate .. but my T3 is way off !!

It never reads full even after I burp and refill .. Lately it's been starting at half tank and by 60 km into the day my gas light is on.. and it'll only take 20-25 litres on refill

my dealer says they haven't heard of any similar problems ...

what the duece !?

Doo's guages have sucked for years. Sure wish they would go back to a clear tank like the '07 X-RS had, or even Yamaha's clear tube from years ago.

i heard a rumor once that burping it can cause that issue....

mine seems to work fine if you go ride and let it sit on a level surface for 15+ minutes it seems to read accurate. but yea it does not read full when its full sometimes. i also burp it. i know the gas light works because when i do run out of gas its pretty consistantly 30km from when the fuel light turns on before she shuts off LOL. but i have had my light come on lots before and i let it sit and then turn it back on once the tank has settled and usuall have 2-4 bars.

doesnt give a guy much confidence way in the backcountry i would like to see a clear sight tube behind the panel as a backup

You got me thinking now. If you tee off from the supply line up to the vent line, this should be easy. Hmmmmmmm - need to look closer. Thanks for spurring the idea Maxwell

Whaaaat?? I thought you guys don't have to worry about fuel with those etecs? Just drive all day without any worries.

Heard that the 2016's don't even have a fuel gauge.

its pretty rare. you need to get up early. have a bluebird day with 3 ft of snow and a long access trail. ive onlymanaged to combine all 3 of those a few times lol

The only way you can get close to a accurate reading is park it on level snow and let it idle for a few minutes. Best way is just to go by how many k you have ridden in different snow conditions. My low fuel light was on for an hour before I got back to my fuel drop.

Oh I know all about the fuel gauge quirks .. mine's definitely not working properly !! at the very least it should read full when the tank is full .. never happens !

approximately how many K do you get on a day of "regular" riding .. say 30-40 km trail riding and 2foot of fresh snow ? 120-150 km sound about right ? (just the tank, no jerry)

Mine always says a quarter tank and after a full intense day of riding up in the back of frisby ridge i have only put 14$ in? Its crazy how good this thing is compared to my last years cat

Yup my gauge is out to lunch too!! All over the place! Keep her full, ride till she starts to sputter, throw some fuel in and head out. I put 142km's in renshaw with a 26 km trail ride and 18-24" of snow all day and burnt a full tank, plus needed the jerry can to get back.
