zip ties didn't break, snow is coming in through the grill, boots are bursting at the seams not at the zip tie. Bigger issue is ice buildup around the rack and steering inside the sled. I know Vaseline, front snow mesh grill from extreme, heat trailer, rubber malt, new zip ties. Now that it's fixed and there is no more issues what about the fact my sled is worth over 7k less then what I paid 3 months ago. You got a fix for that? sorry to be cras, i know your just trying to help and it is a bit of help because I am stuck with this sled and now need to find work around so I appreciate the help guys. How do you clean out the snow and ice packed around this part of the sled??/ this is a safety issue you can not steer and may get worse while driving if you are not paying attention. there is no place for the snow and water to escape from this area. Am I still to high to understand the problem?

Well i guess you must not be riding it right. when the skiis are pointed at the sky all that snow and ice shoud come out via the clutch and suitcase by your feet lmfao... The only way your gonna get your moneys worth out of it is if you ride the value out of it..

thats the best suggestion yet, I will park it on an extreme uphill angle at night to drain melted snow, thanks man.. Can't make any promises on driving it the correct way thou, thats still a distance dream of mine. Good point on driving the value out of it, just was a little bit sneaky going in as to how much value that would be. Honestly just one good day this yr and I got my value, so their off the hook now. Thanks Ski Doo your awesome!!!

Do you have a mesh covering the front grill? This thread is hilarious.

we like cheap fixes because they don't get back ordered and can be applied in the field, excellent suggestion. I really don't have any idea what the deal is with these different grill kits from ski doo, which is which if they work or maybe they don't so buy and after market or just glue some dam mesh on there

I used “Phifertex” to close everything up and it works great. Mine was easy. But it wasn’t a doo!

Mine came with the grill kit installed on the 2018...
As merc said, thought all 2018 x models came with screens

Now if you have a sp then we'll ?

You do know that since 04 revs you had to add something to the nose to keep snow out

Even more I think about it even old sit down sleds you had to buy or make hood grill screens, Evey make and model too boot

Don’t use it in the fluffy snow ? Lmao
I know what your saying bud ?
A few 3/8 holes drilled in good spots will drain the water .
Plus if below -15 the tunnel and everything out back turns to one big block of ice that chews your track all to ****.
Cat does a much better job on that end .
Most never ride in cold weather so no bitching .

that would never work with the problem I had, I would say i was on the extreme side, mine was packed. it would be like trying to melt a 2'cubed ice block enclosed in a metal box. Where would you pour it in ? ? through the front grill where the snow came in? maybe setup a windsheild sprayer infront of the intake so you can just spray that stuff right in there every once in while as you go. prob eco friendly too so no worries dumping that **** everywhere

Explosive Hazards: Contact with “soft” metals (aluminum, zinc, galvanized steel) may generate hydrogen gas which isflammable or explosive in the presence of an ignition source.Recommended use pattern makes this highly unlikely

Maybe not a good idea to dump this stuff into your engine. dammit... so close>>>>>Calcium Chloride

Please do not use this where it will come into contact with metal near and ignition source, ie: an engine, not a good idea, i know seems silly but it's science

Im en route to dealer to add these beauties to my gear bag. Will report on their effectiveness. Skidoo part number: 245542254.
