Hey Everyone, I recently picked up a 2015 Summit x t3 163, with a blown engine, I proceeded to replace it with a new short block and its running great, Took it out for its first ride this past weekend and noticed the handling wasn't perfect. Upon closer inspection the shocks are not centered on the upper A-Arms, the left side shock is close to center but the ski is about 2" further back then the right ski. The right a-arm has the shock much closer to the front. The s module looks fine, no noticeable damage. Wondering what I should look at next, probably a bent upper a-arm but looking for feedback.
Thanks,

check the smodule where the a-arms attach both on the outside an inside of the engine area for cracks or bends

Small bend like that won't be super obvious in the S-module. Look right at the rear A-arm mounts between the cast S-mod and the front plate of the E-mod you will likely see about a 1/16" gap on one side. Small bend like that if you're just riding the sled and not selling it then leave it and just set your toe to clean up the handling a bit.

mine had similar issue when i bought it, one ski looked further out then the other. Got new spindles powder coated and swapped them out and everything was back to normal....Bent spindle, hope yours is a simple fix.

spindles off the MXZ are full width at the bottom where the bolt bushing goes through, few buddys that bent their stock summits went to MXZ spindles,

Wouldn’t the shock still be centered in the a-arm if the spindle was bent? My vote is definitely for the s module.

Mileage on that unit ? Comes as seen in the photo ?

bottom has 2300 km and the top has about 400. You will need break in mode reprogammed in your ecm. yes comes exactly as you see it. basically drop it in plug everything in and away you go. PM me if your interested

Did you figure out what was bent?
I'm in the same boat..
I have not, Spindles are straight, Alignment is very close so doesn't bother me enough. I have spent more time working on the sled then actually riding it. I believe my S module is just slightly tweaked, just doesn't warrant the time or cost expense to replace yet..
Only time I notice is when I'm following a buddies ski tracks and my sled gets a bit of a steering wobble when my skis match there tracks. So I just make my own tracks, I might attempt to adjust alignment soon, when I take off the skid plate I'll get some photos of the modules, hopefully then I can identify the tweaked part.

Twitching is from the skis, not alignment

If the sled isn't tracking properly you need to adjust the toe in. needs to be 1/4 inch toe out on the front otherwise it will fight you on the trail. And yes the s mod is tweaked on the upper a-arm mounts. typical to most older xp/xm sleds that have miles on them. Also if you do change the s-mod replace it with the mxz rs s-mod it has extra bracing in those areas that like to get tweaked with impact.

mine was crazy twitchy and darted everywhere when i bent my a arm so I disagree
And you still use the doo ds3 skis right

As soon as I junked them pos, and put grippers on my xm's, that's two of them

The sled handled like a hole different machine, both trail and in pow, for the better

Even enough, a cheap buddy of mine road mine once, and now bought new gripper skis, cause it's that much better, and his sled is straight as a arrow, mine was not
