I am assuming that a few people have had the front shock spring come dislodged from the lower retainer and rubbing on the shock housing. While the preload is set well within spec it is easy to unload the shock by tipping the sled on one side and dislodging the spring causing it to sit crooked and rub on the spring, has anyone had any luck getting this warrantied? If so where? I took it to a dealer and they of course said they have never seen or heard of this, i have one lower a arm that is tweeked a bit and they bsay that is why both sides of shocks are rubbed, not buying it! tipped over new sled in their yard and flicked the shock spring out of retainer with one finger. Any suggestions or experiences would be great thanks.

I had this problem on both of my shocks. I loosened my pre-load off a bit, but as the springs broke-in my adjustment became too much, and the first time both skis came off the ground I lost one of the retainer clips. The spring was rubbing on the shock. I never got this warrantied though as it is only a cosmetic issue. However; something happened where my pre-load adjustment ring got seized. It wouldn't move more than 1/2 a turn in either direction. So that is what I ended up getting warrantied.
Don't think they will warranty a cosmetic issue, as long as it's still working fine.

Pretty much same scenario with my sled. Lost one the second trip and payed $50.00 dollars for a new retainer and bought a spare just in case. I think Walker Evans made the shock a little to short.
