What cream should a person put on a rash after riding all day.

Asking for a friend ?

Vaseline. Hands down. Don't get the knock off Vaseline, gotta be the original. Keep the big tub of it beside your bed and a small one in your travel kit for the rest of your life. Ball rash, ass rash, exhaust burns, sunburn, chapped lips, monthly outbreaks(Maxwell told me this). Everything. After the 2nd day of application all ailments go away. It's kinda gooey to put on but man does it work well.
That's right folks. A couple of old guys are discussing riding rash right here on Snow and Mud. We are here to help.

Lemme think on this for a bit. What kind of riding do you mainly do? How much do you weigh?

Mixture of trees and boondocking. I’ll climb to get somewhere but we’re not the group that sits at the bottom of a hill highmarking all afternoon. Time the storms so it’s usually pretty deep. Ride in Revy mainly. I’m 6’2’’ and 190-195lbs without gear.

Got a vaseline handy once. Went off 3 more times in the shower trying to scrub it off.

The stock Axys clutching is pretty good so I would recommend an Slp pipe and can if you don't already have one over the belt drive. Great hp returns. The pipe comes with a primary spring and weights. Get a primary spring with a 120lb first number for better tree crawling ability. Example-140/320 spring, use a 120/320 spring. Clutch it to 8300 rpm. Nice and simple str8 frwd instructions on the pipe install and clutching too. If doing a belt drive, get a 25 top gear or 24 if available. Tki didn't have 24's as of a month ago.
Belt drive worth it? Depends. I like it for ease of gear change and loss of rotating weight. Easy belt changes and if a belt breaks(rare), it wont take out the chaincase. Most peeps can't tell the difference but the guys that run belt drives always run them on any new sled. Install difficulty pipes-4.5/10. Belt drive install difficulty-4.5/10. Both can be done with medium skills if you take your time.
Bonus tip-Don't get a handie with Vaseline.

My 2019 G4's recoil doesn't work.

Take it apart and operate it on your bench. Look, observe, touch it, feel it. Become one with the recoil. Figure out how and why the design is so dumb. Reverse engineer this item. Machine new parts that look hokey, wimpy and look like they cost 10 cents or less. Smooth out any edges on the operating mechanism and make it operate smoothly. Re install. Move on w/life. You will drive yourself nuts wondering why it hasn't been fixed years ago.

If your serious about fixing it there are a few reason your sled will run this way. Its a carb. problem and 2 strokes that bog indicates running rich.
Back in the day Ski-doo were all jetted heavy, simply because they were meant to operate in COLD temperatures. The motor will run great but as the temperature goes up the fuel is too heavy thus a bog.
You most likely need to rejet the carb for your area and temps.

If it ran good till just recently, then most likely you have an issue with the cold start circuit of the carb. Your sled will either have a "primer" or a "choke".
It doesn't matter which one but basically fuel is being pulled past the primer seal, if its a primer or past the choke plunger if its a choke. The year of this thing would not surprise me if the seals are pooched.

Sorry Kdog, for hijacking but seriously your answer too help sucked.

PS smc, ignor the 94oct bs, 87 will work in your sled.
87 has ethanol tho, which makes water in tank


Use 91-94 for anything 2smoke

To add to this.... Some of us (myself included) feel that ethanol actually causes issues when it comes to small engines and storage so shell’s V Power is a great candite for a quality 91octane with zero ethonol. Mix this with your 110LL and the turbo is happy right up to the big numbers.

I doubt that you will turbo grampas sled... but if you did........ or didn’t, it is a quality fuel.





87 has ethanol tho, which makes water in tank


Use 91-94 for anything 2smoke

Long time listener ......First time caller . Will it hurt my engine if I use a higher combustion fuel ?

Welcome caller. The local, very busy small engine repair shop in my city makes $450-1,000/day($150 per repair) draining fuel tanks and cleaning carburetors due to water in the fuel. He has a huge sign on the door and on all receipts-run 94 Chevron only. All the customers burn 87 octane which is cheap and highly combustible. Cool huh? Unfortunately, most fuels less than 94 octane contain ethanol. Ethanol in fuel generates water.
For your own enjoyment, fill a clear jar with 94 octane and fill a jar with highly combustible 87 octane fuel. In a few weeks or sooner, there will be water in the 87 octane jar.
It is completely your choice if you want to run a higher combustion fuel.
