I Was in Kamloops this week. Sun was out and had a great time, found a place to park, was not shot at or offered drugs the entire day.
kamloops is a great place...you want ugly that's the lower main land. Not so much the area but what's going on down there.

I have lived in Kamloops and Abbotsford in the past. I take Kamloops every day of the week and twice on Sundays. WAY nicer place to live. Not near as busy, not near as much crime, no way near as much ethnicity.

There are a lot of amazing places in that area, too bad people only see what they feel is negative. Lots of biased and prejudice opinion's on BS.
If your an out door's type, its extremely hard to beat the beauty of the coastal mountain, you got the Golden Ears and Baker at your back door. Fishing, you will not find excess to better fishing in BC, from lakes to rivers to ocean. From the Fraser valley your also centralized to some of the best sledding in the entire province of BC. Pemberton ice fields along the coast to the Coquihalla just east of Hope.
The only real negative about the area is traffic and home prices...DEPENDING on your location. If your smart you do your home work and one can work around these issues.
As for different ethnic groups living there..............F'N GET REAL, they are people. But from certain individual's found on S&M, comments like that doesn't surprise me

As for Kamloops, it's ugly LOL in comparison. Kamloops is good in its own way, it has bad and good things like anywhere else.
If you have ethnic issues and are prejudice.....don't go there either LOL.

You might want to get out of Abbotsford and see what life has to offer elsewhere. As a place to raise a family it is HORRID! Its not racism when it comes to the "new Canadians" its the simple fact that they prefer to bring India or China to Canada rather than come here and become Canadian, then they feel they should go to war with each other to get the turf to expand their homelands. Call me racist all you want, but 3 of my best friends are India born and now Canadian residents and they themselves admit that their fellow immigrants are the most racist people they know. It is very easy to tell who has come here for a new life and who has come here to expand their old lives. Abbotsford has way to my much "old life" for my liking. Face it, it is overpopulated, way to busy, rains way to much, cost to much and stinks. Everything and I mean everything costs you money in the lower main land.

Grew up in Chilliwack moved to GP for 9 years back in Chilliwack now. love being back, I can look out my living room window to see what the snows doing up top with coffee in hand. Drive 45 mins be unloaded on my sled and riding. Also be back for supper if I want. If I don't go sledding I may go fishing? Quadding or even cut my grass lol. GP I was up at 5am beat my truck down some mud hole of a road for hours/sled then drive all way home/ usually would have to eat out on way home/ bed my 10-11 pm makes for a long day. Cons of Fraser valley is traffic south of Chilliwack and the craziness. I have to commute to Langley which is brutal but I'd take it any day for the life style I live on days off. Pros and cons good money in northern northern bc/ab/ sask. I found in GP I drove long ways to have fun and short for work. Down here outdoors at your door step but everyday real world life going to work frustrating.
