I have a 1990 Suzuki 230 shaft Quadrunner. Took it out for some heavy abuse like they all should have to them. At end of trip, started losing accel, top speed, and started stalling. A buddy told me it should be as simple as giving the carb a nice cleaning. During the process, I took a look at the air filter, and after cleaning and putting it back in, ran into more problems. Started it up, and it started revving as if the choke was on, and smoking like hell. Smoke was whitish, and almost smelled like after a firecracker has gone off. If anybody knows what this is, and if the first diagnostic of the original problem is wrong, please let me know. I'm an electrician not a mechanic haha.
