Went up today, parked at the 22 km bridge.
Snow is pretty thin still. Lots of hazards and creeks are open, not many places to cross without water skipping. Trail from wood shed to cabin is getting whooped already.

It goes to the raffle site, but won’t let a person purchase tickets. Something goofy in the location settings… I checked mine on both a mobile device and a desktop computer….?

This is likely because of the lottery rules for the raffle, we had a similar thing last year with our raffle for the enclosed trailer, people from outside Alberta wanted to participate but could not.

Huh, That's something that I didn't know. Thanks for the heads up.

Talked with our Raffle committee and yes since it's a BC lottery license it's only open for BC residents. Sorry for the confusion.

I would like to come to that neighborhood for a family Trip this season. Is there fairly easy terrain to poke around and explore to get to know the place? Or do we need a tour guide for first time there?

My wife would be way more onboard with sled trips if she can go chill at a spa or hang at a lounge. Mcbride wasn’t doing it for her.

One of my fav experiences is spending the day riding forster, stop at the cabin for a warm up on the way out, rip the usually well groomed trail to the truck - then head straight to the hot springs in radium. Hit the pub for burger n beers on the way back to the hotel. Great times in a great area and not busy considering how close it is to the Calgary masses.
Fairly easy to navigate especially if you want easier terrain, shouldn’t need a guide. Maps at the pay shack and follow the trail up. Panodude would know the most on that though.

Depends what your family has done before. Forster is great to trail ride in and play in the meadows and see valley views but you need at least 2 good riders to ferry peeps up to the mtn views… in reality you need more, but we have done it with 2 well experienced guys that can double.

My 2 $ worth anyway.

No skin in the game. Just giving my 2 $ worth. Plus I’ve stayed in the Dave White Hunt many times as a sledder and skier.

It's easy to get around on your own up there. Spas are on every corner in Radium and Invermere.
Nice One right in the Prestige hotel in Radium.
There's are bunch of trail riding between a dozen lakes too.
Wife and I stayed at Big Horn Meadow last weekend for our anniversary and it was very nice accommodation.

Heads up on the road conditions, road from radium to Westside fsr has not been plowed yet and may not be plowed. Westside fsr from Invermere is maintained, Horse thief fsr to Forster is not being maintained.
Positive temperatures expected with possible rain tomorrow. Bring chains.
