Yep I always drive with fogs on, with HIDS to get a better ground view. But i received a $195 ticket for having them on. Coming back from valemount. So now i do not turn them on in BC. and they are aimed right and even with a load do not come even close to peoples windshield

Its an open market go buy some real lights you will never regret it and the day you own them is the day you quit cursing everyone else that has them.

its going to suck when you are coming head on at my aircraft landing lights.....too bad for you but I will be able to see just fine.......

We should all buy HID's and then be blinded by oncoming traffic at night, no worries though, at least we will all be able to do 150 kph in the dark without over driving our headlights, cause what's important.

Just remember to think about your actions and the consequences they might have. Will turning off your "Fog" lights momentarily for oncoming traffic be a big deal?

I wont lie im one of those a$$ holes that do that. To bad guys i like to see i run 55W HIDs high/lows and in my fogs heres the real kicker i have the relay that lets me even keep my fogs on when highbeams are on. My lights are all aimed correctly and right within spec.

P.S dont run mud flaps either spent all my extra cash on lights.

maybe if you bought a real truck instead of a dodge it would have real headlights. they must be scared of the dark or something them dodges.

I run my fog lights because the show the edge of the highway for animals and such, they are LOW and only make the 10-20 feet of darkness in front of my truck lit up and its not any brighter or at least not even close to my brights on. I like how people flash their lights at me or their fog lights like fawk off, I see other trucks with their fogs on and it is NO brighter, there is more light for sure but there is also more lights on a semi with 30 orange clearance lights all over it too. Anyone that's pissed about fogs needs more important things to worry about.

as for hids they are a bit extreme, my 2010 rams headlights are not as bright as my 2008 gmcs but i still rarely run my brights, on my gmc i never ran brights.

They are not "fog" lamps people. They are "driving lights" and they are legal, if they werent legal then manufactures wouldnt have them as factory equipment! They are ment to light the edge of the road and part of the ditch. If they were actual fogs lamps then why do they produce white light which we all know does nothing to penetrate fog! If you dont like people driving with them on then stay home. Sick and tired of people bitching beacuse the world is not perfect for them. If you feel that a truck approachin you with so called "fog" lights on is going to ruin your weekend then go become a cop or dot officer and enforce something.

is it not common curtiousy to turn off your log lights and dim your head lights when approaching another vehicle or does your handy little book have a loophole for that too?

why would I turn them off when there legal???? and yes it does have a loophole it's called being legal it's quite a nice loophole! like seriously guys its a dim foglight not some big blinding spotlight!!!! I agree some headlights like hid's are pretty wild when they are coming towards you but on an hid as long as the light is a 6000k or less or emits a white beam of light not a blue or purple beam of light it is 100% legal on your headlights.

I have super duty with "driving lights" and last winter on way thru McBride received a $195 ticket for driving with lights on. Was told in his opinion the conditions did not call for "fog lights". I tried to reason with him that is was snowy conditions and loose snow on highway being blown up and gave oncoming traffic a better idea of my truck on highway....Still got ticket. I also have Hella lights mounted on bar, that were not on, but uncovered, he made me find covers or cover with socks before letting me go. It is illegal to drive with uncovered after market lights??? All and all another wonderful experience with our fine law enforcement!!

Yes, lights that are mounted on a bar are considered "off road" lights and have to be covered by an opaque cover when traveling public roadways. That I can understand but the driving light issue is bullsh%t.

it's only certain offroad lights that need covers the ones that are good are kc,piaa. they are legal because they are "fluted" as I was told about a cop about my lightforce lights I then seen one of the officers from kimberley driving his cop car with oh yeah thats right lightforce lights mounted on his push bar on his cruiser! I switched to a rigid lightbar and havent been bothered since!

So all in all are fog lights illegal or legal and is there anyway to get out of this ticket? Fog lights are used for better ground clearance and are reasonable if positioned correctly, so i have no clue what the issue is with not dying on a highway due to colliding with a moose, due to good visibility.

I try to but I forget feel free to flick your landing lights at me and I will dim them! I'll even wave sorry when we pass. Feel free to wave the one finger if I took to long!

HID lights are only legal if they have the proper SAE approvals and are also in a SAE approved HID housing.

i cannot believe this one is stil going on.
i am going to buy the biggest baddest bluest whitest chit kicking lights and then high beam every one of the azzhats that does not like my hids shining in their eyes. at least i can see where the heck i am going who cares about anyone else. azzhats.

My HID headlights are typically to bright and get flashed, so i usually drive with just my HID fog lights that are in the bumper. still bright being a 9006 bulb and doesnt piss people off, but at times i do run my head lights depending on where I am. I have hit animals on the road before, so being able to see them sooner and react is something I dont care if im a douche bag or not.

Lose track of how many azzhats drive with them on. Even better when they upgrade the bulbs. True Dodge headlights suck i can,t see them past the foglights. So this makes it allright to make the rest of us blind?? So i need to get a set of Lightforce 240 HID,s an ddrive around with them on i guess!!! Couldn,t do that . Most people don,t even know they have the foglights on SHOULD never be factory wired to the low beams. I know this is the only way there legal but people never see the foglight switch and turn them off. SORRY big pet peeve of mine!!
