All in all if everyone would just dim their lights and click off the driving lights for a second when your meeting someone it wouldn't be a problem! You can turn them back on when you get past! And those bright lights do suck balls when they are behind you down the highway, little bright in the mirrors. Can't we all get along!!

Lights are kind of a "I can't be happy when you're happy; you can't be happy when i'm happy" dilemma. Are you selfish or selfless? Fawk I could be a philosopher.

My favourite line is " just look at the white line along the right side of the road if you don't like my bright lights burning your eyes out while I'm driving towards you".

Ya, like I really want to be driving down the road not watching the frikken idiots hurtling towards me at 100kmh in two tons of steel! That way I won't be able to see what is about to kill my family and I.

It's so much safer to actually watch whats coming at you, until it's past you.

they are brighter than "park lights" man, and it is against the law to drive with fog lights on in clear conditions. I wish it was enforced....they don't come on when you turn your lights on for a reason. you have to make them come on by turning them on, for fog....not because you think they look cool. they are designed to light the road immediately in front of your vehicle, they do not serve any other purpose than to illuminate the road in fog so you can see the lines. and fawk all the douchebags that convert them to HID and drive around with them on.

Coming home tonight I tested my foglamp-factorylight. Ford f-350
For those who say they just light up in front of you could be wrong, as when they are ON I can see all the fence post in the ditch. When they're OFF I only see a few, so I think with the help of those fog lamps I could avoid a deer, moose or elk maybe even a wild skunk. Again with a loaded trailer I was not flashed by anyone, so in my opinion I didn't piss off anyone, I think I must of passed at least 100 cars and big trucks.
So here's to those who think fog lamps aren't good if they are getting blinded. Do like Corey Hart sing a song to yourself "I wear my sunglasses at night" and if I notice you with your sunglasses on I'll smile back. LOL.

So staring into stock headlights does not phase your eyes? Maybe it's just me... But looking directly at any lights while driving at night bothers my eyes. Do you stare at the street lights as they pass by too to make sure you don't cross paths? I'm sorry... But some of these arguments are humorous. I'd like to see a lot of the "complainers" rigs to see how much stuff is improperly maintained that could by chance affect other drivers. Perhaps take a look at driving habits that could affect other drivers. What I'm getting at is no one is going to abide by the standards of the law nor the standards of those around us so essentially bickering over fog lights is getting nowhere. Please don't respond with an "I'm a perfect law abiding driver and will never piss people off" reply. I know I'm not, I know my lights may piss some people off but trying to make everyone happy is a waste of time. Its like politics. Anyways hopefully some of you guys will find some insight in my rambling... Over and out. Happy trails.

I wish that was an option for me. construction guys are only allowed to work daylight hours with their equipment. when they are done and it needs to move, that's when I go.....at night.

as for flashing people with their fog lights on....guess what happens then? they hammer you with their brights. not worth it to even bother....if you think the fogs are too bright you will enjoy seeing blue spots in front of your eyes for the next 10 minutes

It is illegal to drive on the highway with your "offroad" lights uncovered.

I don't really notice a big deal when a vehicle is coming my way with fog lights on. Keep you eye on the road in front of you and not in front of mine/

What I hate is when you try to pass a trucker and he turns on his inspection lights and blinds you as you do a safe pass. I have a 1000 lumen helmet light and am thinking of giving these truckers a taste of their own medicine.

Who is staring into the lights? Only an idiot stares directly into someones headlights. You must have missed the comments that explain how many of these so called fog lights are extremely bright at close range and get progressively brighter the closer you get to them and thats without staring at them. In fact they are much brighter in your eyes than any properly adjusted low beams are. The street light thing, well thats really pretty stupid to even post here. The rest of your comment outside of the lights issue doesn't belong in this debate.

As posted here before, it is a simple common courtesy to dim any lights you have on other than your low beams when approaching oncoming traffic. Not to do so says much about ones character and their lack of caring for others safety.

I think he means backup lights. clear glass lens backup lights are illegal as well, must be diffused lenses. I have briefly flashed them on when vehicles come up behind me with their brights on, but never when they are passing.....that's a pretty douche move.

The lights they have on their side view mirrors. Bright spotlights facing backwards. I was told they are there for inspecting their loads at night.
