Does anyone know of a good place to stay and maybe what areas to try?

Try for what? Camping, boating, fishing, Casinos or just travelling around?

We have spent some time down there and like it a lot.

I've no idea that far south. I do know that further north (Eureka/Kalispel/West Glacier it is very similar to Fernie. A little further west is also good. Libby and into Idaho have great sledding.

I have found that hotels aren't as cheap as they used to be nor are meals. Gas is still cheaper than here.

Years ago we stayed in Columbia Falls. Lots of riding in the Flathead Valley. We also rode Swan Lake. Lots of riding to the west in Idaho.
