Did you get to stop at the hot springs? If not be sure to the next time. You will not be disappointed.

Been up the Alaska HWY a few times over the year's. Either hunting or sledding. It's definitely beautiful country and i recommend it to anyone who loves nature.
Wife and i are leaving in a few weeks for Alaska via Cassiar Hwy, Dempster Hwy and back Alaska Hwy on our motorcycles.

This isn't about me but just to add a little..................

My first trip up there was in '52 and have made several since. I think it was gravel all the way from north of highway 16 west of Edmonton. I still remember the Liard Hot Springs in '52..........slippery, slimy, floating boards where one had to be real careful or one was in the slop! The improvements are wonderful.

I was also back just after (the first night they opened the campground) the springs were opened from the bear attack back in the 90's. Slept with the shotgun beside me in the tent. The Dempster is cool. Eagle Plains can be real windy (I've seen parked semi's blown over and cold like a I've never seen before) and the ice crossing on the MacKenzie is an eye opener. The ice bridge to Tuk is also interesting. I spent a winter up there watching them build that ice bridge!

Beautiful country and if anybody is planning, it is also great to go in off season 9fall colors are beautiful) but not too late as all the shops close. Not as crowded and a person has room to breathe!

Another trip is on our bucket list and it would be to concentrate on the Alaska experience.
