First time riding Golden

I plan on riding Golden on January 12/13 with a buddy.
Neither of us have riden there before.
Where are some good sports to ride?
Whats a great recommended area?

Quartz would be my vote. Easy ride in and relatively mild area to get your feet wet. From the cabin head to the left to go to a big open bowl. To the right of the cabin is a little more advanced area but still not too bad. Watch for national park signs as you don’t want to go in there.

Gorman is close to town but quite a bit more advanced terrain. Silent is good but a long drive and ride in.
