A little fuel stabilizer, fogging, greasing, loosening of springs when you put her away in the spring.. fresh fuel and maybe some new plugs then pull the cord for start-up in the winter. I'm sure there's some other items but that's generally what I do.

Putting oil in the sparkplug hole will only make you feel better. It does nothing for a 2 stroke engine. I feel that the best thing to do is get rid of all the old fuel in the tank and carbs. Fresh fuel can prevent a lean burndown.

If you put her to bed with fuel stabilizer run through properly at the end of the season, why do you need to put in fresh fuel? Besides preventing gelling and gumming up of the carbs while sitting, isn't fuel stabilizer meant to maintain the stability of the fuel for up to a year?

Stabil is a good product and I do use it. But it is not perfect. You will still loose the "light ends "of the gasoline during storage. The octane will be lower if the gas has sat over the summer. This is okay for the lawnmower, but for an engine that is making 100+ hp per liter I want fresh fuel. JMO.

i would add stabil or similar fuel stabilizer in the spring and run the sled for a little bit then siphon out the fuel in the tank. then run the sled till it drains the carb. you don't want fuel left, in your sled,as it gums up the system when it sits. there may be some fuel left in carb float bowls, stabil should take care of it. you just don't want any green slime/hard crap in your carbs. if you haven't drained the tank take it easy on the throttle on start up as you can burn your motor down real quick, i,ve tried carb cleaner etc, but no luck, had to take carb apart and clean.

I leave a little fuel in them and fire them up every month or so let them warm up and shut them down. Before I go for the first ride I fill them with fresh fuel
