BRP is saying turbo is Rotax design. 165hp up to 8000ft then +40 hp of what stock would be at elevation after that. Up to 4lbs of boost.

In them hills.
Wouldnt 4psi of boost bump it to 205 at sea level and maintain that at elevation?
ECM gives you 0psi boost a sea level.

I am sure someone will have a flash or a piggy back controller to give a full 4psi all the time.

Maybe more psi if the turbo has excess capacity.

correct, no point in running this machine at sea level. But as soon as you hit 1000ft and up the gains will be noticable

They should have explained it in terms of power gains rather than maintaining stock HP. Think of it this way, for every 1000' a 2 stroke loses 3% of its power compared to sea level, so at the usual 6000' and up we ride at based on the 850 being 165hp, we are down to roughly 135hp in the alpine, so the new 850 turbo has a gain of 30hp at 6000' and 40hp at 8000'. Hopefully this clears up some of the confusion.

If trends follow what’s happened in the past, 2022 release will be a chassis change.
