Its summer now for 3 or 4 months and its supposed to be hot.

Too bad we have these antifa wannabe, ndp voters going around with jerry cans.

If you see one if these losers, dont be afraid to beat them to a pulp...

A few people were saying they said that they caught people setting fires every hundred yards apart and chased them, others said they seen boxes that were on fire being throw into ditches. Facebook was removing their posts as fast as they were spreading the info.

actually it says they only rappelled on 2% of fires and they were still used as ground firefighting crews even if they weren't rappelling. Seems like all they saved on was some helicopter hours.

yup, no idea what choppers charge on a fire detail? i can only assume it is a premium rate. so in essence no one lost their jobs, and I can only assume how hazardous jumping out of a chopper could be? saved money on choppers and likely money on jumpers who were payed jumper rates for working ground crew and possibly crew training. i don't have a problem, smith is doing a fine job.

i would agree fully! as far as i know you have to be aggressive fighting the fire, in order to gain some control! Fighting , weather, terrain and mother nature! no one needs lunes out setting fires on demand by the woke crowd.

They had a legal expert talk about delaying the election because of the fires. He said it’s not as easy as one would think. There are provisions in the election act to make it tough so that governments in power can’t delay on purpose to gain an advantage. Usually a crisis if handled well by the government in power happens the existing government seems to do well which hopefully will bode well for them. Hopefully Smith doesn’t drop the ball.

We have talk in rural areas of doing election delay. Extreme power is at stake and Alberta. I would trust partying with Bill Colby’s pills Way more than I trust the election coming up in a few weeks.

So you are saying that the likelihood of this many fires starting same day , right near so many O & G based communities is what , freak of nature , happenstance, coincidence ???

It's interesting that the conditions are roughly the same as in Saskatchewan and hardly any wild fires...no election coming up though!!

After looking at the fires that are still under investigation in the Edson area. I do find it suspicious that the fires started right by a road, and they cut off major highways, affecting major industrial towns.
Alot of things can start a fire, and it depends on how far down the rabbit hole a person wants to go with assumptions.
With the warm temps in the forecast, I do hope Fox creek, little smoky and other area residents get to go home soon, and we all get to stay home.

Well the Boundary lake fire was started by over winter brush pile fires . We had one about a mile and and a half west of our house. Same deal ,almost burnt one of the neighbours house down . Side note provincial and federal election outcomes are not decided in places like Hines Creek , or Grande Praire . All of us semi rural folks vote the right way .
