Figure this out.....

I took 2 wore out 6 volt RV batteries in for disposal. Long story about finding out where to take them in beautiful downtown Salmon Arm.
I ended up taking them the Gilberts Parts Depot.
I got $9/battery.
But the guy gave me $20 and change.
I asked him isn’t $9 + $9 equal to $18.00.
His reply, “ you get the tax back.”
What’s with that?

That makes sense. Maybe the clerk was mistaken saying it was GST and PST.
