Fighting rust-super duty

I decided to wash/wax my truck as it was a decent day out.

It seems I’ve neglected closely looking at my truck in awhile, but anyway there is a bit of paint chipped and rust starting around all the door handles, bottom rear corner of the window sills and most nostably rust cancer showing pretty heavy on the box fenders. As well as a bit on the cab corners and bottom of doors

I’ve been meaning to get wool wax and fluid film her before sledding season every year I’ve owned it, but always seem forget until the snow falls and it gets cold af out

Anyway, my question is what’s the best way to wash the truck during sledding season to keep the rust at bay. Is there plugs I can pull out in the cab and spray water in to slow the doors etc from rotting?

Well on that note I am on the lookout for a ‘new’ box and have a friend that runs a local body shop. He would do cab corners and rocker panels as well for a decent price. I just don’t want it to get too much worse this season/do some PM if possible

I have considered a new 6.7 but to spec a new alumiduty similar to mine would likely be a shade under 100k. Also, mine is paid for and I hate payments lol

Updated my Hutterite wagon the other day… pulled the chrome trim and moulding… put the pocket flares on. The rear mud flaps have nothing left to grab lol… rock tamers!

Buy a dodge, you won’t have rust issues lololol.

I’ve heard if there is a bit or rust on face, behind it is the size of a business card and it won’t stop.

Krown rust spray in prince george, he drills holes in certain spots to get the krown spray where it is needed. He did body work for several years in town.

Took care of mine too, until the rust came over night. Wheel wells taking hard, put flares on it and bow it’s coming above them too.

I replaced the driver’s front fender. Will need to do something with both rockers before it’s too late. 2011 Ram 3500.

Nothing lasts forever is correct, but with the price of new trucks one has to keep what one has on life support for as long as possible.

I have heard good things about Krown treatment. A sled buddy has all the yellow plugs around his truck that was drilled and filled

If you never screwed mud flaps or fender flares on with shitty metal screws… you’re probably better off… that’s what starts all this rust on the fenders IMO. The dissimilar metals wreak havoc in salt/wet conditions…
