Fernie Trip for someone new to Area

I am looking at heading up to Fernie area maybe end of This month or first part of March. I have seen some maps and information on riding and staging areas, but I was wondering if anyone has any input on lodging and good places to stay that aren't too expensive, and relatively close to restaurants and the staging areas.

A little less expensive with a Smitty's restaurant close by is the Super8. Not near as nice but more reasonable in price.
