Just a reminder of the FSA Bob Arnott family ride on Dec 28th. Leaving the staging area at 10 am. My son and I will be hosting the event and will have a free lunch for everyone. Looking forward to seeing some Snow and Mud peeps up there. Last year we had lots of sledders that attended so hoping for the same this year. For more information look at the FSA website or contact me.

This is at the rolling hills cabin then?
Might try to make it but don’t get off work until that morning so we’ll see.

Tip toeing around morrisey a couple of days ago, good if you know the right meadows to play in.

Is there enough snow to ride up from Coal Creek or Morrisey now? Also is there still active logging up both trails? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Was hoping to ride the 17th 18th 19th.

They are logging up Coal creek and not Morrisey. I have heard that the logging industry is shutting down for 2 weeks during christmas but that is not confirmed. This whole area needs snow IMO. WE rode last Sunday and drove our trucks up Coal creek to the Martin turnoff. My buddy lives at the bottom of Coal Creek and says they start at 2 am and is hauling plenty of loads out. I heard 300 from a logger 300 loads need to come out but nothing is confirmed. Hope that helps

East of the Rockies and west of the rest.
Went out yesterday. Drove up from Tin Shack to the corral. Could hear and feel rocks on the carbides but enough snow to keep cool. Don't really get into snow until the top of the first big hill with creek at the bottom. Logging areas are a no go. If you find any natural open areas without stumps or rocks you can play. Willows are still a-arm grabbers.

+4 at the wranglers cabin. Rain/sleet/ wet snow was we had. The Morrisey road is glare ice. Can't walk on it so be very careful. I probed at the top of the Doug Dean trail and got 110 CMS. There is a layer of hard around 25 cms.My son got stuck and it wet and sticky. We went towards the notch but we bailed as way too much wind for us. It was a tough day to see as the snow stuck to our goggles. Forecast is for 40-60 mm of rain so maybe up high will get snow

we did get a cat unstuck. Poor 10 year old kid felt bad about it but after 30 minutes his dad was sure grateful for our help. Apparently 2 other sledders drove past and didn't even ask if they needed help. the kid found a big hole for sure.
Those darn Polaris's eh??
