Ya', it is different this year! The trail up in Elkford is still rocky and I am very careful off trail as there are way more rocks than in Fernie. We have basins that nobody has broken trail into yet? I won't doo it unless it is on snowshoes, carrying a chainsaw for the wind blown trees, and packing the trail for 4 kms. I'm hoping some young guys full of pee and vinegar who don't care about carnage end up doo-ing it. The Fernie conditions are much better if one knows where to go as the snow is generally 50-75 cm deeper.

Maybe if the cantankerous one got out a little more, he'd be a little more amicable with ol' imdoon's posts. Nah, that wouldn't happen........:noidea:
