By Herald-Tribune staff
A 25-year-old Fort McMurray man is dead following a quad accident near the McLeod Flats early Sunday morning.
According to police, the deceased along with a friend left their campsite some time after midnight to attend a party in the area.
On route the friend lost sight of the deceased's quad.
The friend attended the party, not knowing the location of the first quad.
RCMP said the friend located the deceased at 7 a.m. in the vicinity McLeod Flats which is located south on Highway 40.
Early investigation indicates that the deceased failed to negotiate a curve in the road, and drove into the bush, reportedly striking a tree.
Alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
