Well...I did this in while i was in the states snowboarding but this should and will work.
I am a very experienced Skiier/snowboarder and HAD my own sled.
"So i know this will work."
Looking for ANYONE who is willing to give me a lift to the top of a mountain and willing to pick me up and continue this for the day?
I will pay for the gas for you. so $60-$80.
i have my own car and riding gear. So all i ask of you is the lift in the truck?..(help pay for gas)...and a ride to the top!

Gives you the chance to ride in the backcountry for the day. Just need a lift up to the top so i can ride down. I am involved with a Head-cam company looking for freshies and a sweet ride to put into the video. Also, I can put you into the video. I think this could work since i did this for someone else while i was riding in the states.

I am 38 years old. Experienced in the backcountry with all the gear needed to survive. I would not disappoint you nor a joke to the experience.
Live in calgary and willing to ride during the week days or weekends.

So if you are interested in someone paying your gas money for riding the day?.
Let me know...
Also i work for sportchek...I am sure i can work something out for you!

I'm sorry ... but, this is a joke, right ?

If you want anyone here to waste a day of sledding carting a skier up ski runs, you better be prepared to spend a LOT more money than $60 in gas.

And I'm a skier who uses my sled for backcountry skiing as well as sledding.

good luck sir!

ps. the service you are looking for already exists.. It's called cat skiing, unfortunately it costs more than $60-$80 per day!

I don't have a problem with the question, but you are offering me $60 in gas to take you around the mountains all day ? So at the end of the day I haven't been sledding, skiing, or made a dime and put wear and tear on my machine.

I don't consider doubling someone up ski runs all day any sort of fun. It's hard on the machine and a crappy experience for the driver.

At least offer a less-than-insulting compensation

you need to give your head a shake. Cat skiing is about 1400 for 2 days but does include meals and a place to sleep so......i figure skiing is worth about 550/day and you
want to get a personal guide into some of the best skiing areas in the world for some gas money. hmmmmm don't insult this site and it's snowmobilers for some gas money and
10% off some gloves at sportcheck

I have to agree with SidewaysInto3rd on the price! maybe 60 per ride up and I dont know how many of those I'd even do for that?
You can't even get a lift pass at a ski hill for $60?
I think your better option is to find a fellow ski/snowboarder and split the rental on a sled take turns being the chair lift!

I don't think he means at a ski resort. Like renshaw or something he probably means. Gotta be more specific on what you want.

So let me get this straight...

I get to take a day off work.
Drive you to the mountains and pay for half the gas.
Take you up a mountain and pay my own trail pass.
Spend the entire day driving you back up the mountain only to race down and wait for you again and again.
Probably burn a belt doing it; which I'll pay for too...

And your going to give me back the gas money I spent that day, along with the pleasure of your company... REALLY?!

Where do I sign up and can we do it every weekend this winter? I think I'd rather pay for your sled rental... It'd be cheaper.

Hey don't be to hard on the guy, I am sure he was looking to hook up with some sled skiers on this site. I am a 50% of the time sled skier but I only go with guys who have their own sleds. Doubling sucks and on the right days it is nice to be in a group that can drop the skies and boards in the back country and go for a rip on the sleds. Sleds are expensive to run and I am not into pulling people around on my dime. Gas is one thing but as mentioned belt and motor cost some money. As well as the truck and deck........

SO you either need to make some friends with sleds or get one and join the group. With a sled you are welcome to come rip with us any day.

p.s. We all play in the back country and people need to be a little more friendly to newbies on this site .:nono: I find some peoples attitudes towards me as a back country skier (50 percent of the time) can be a little ignorant.

can you pick him up in calgary?

For $525, I'll send him a first class air canada ticket, put him up in a chateau whistler suite and let him use my pow skis so he doesn't have to haul his all the way here.

you were right .. I should start asking for things too !!!!

I'm going to stop by my doo dealer and see if I can trade my XRS and pocket lint for a new freeride ! you never know

where did he go anyway ? I think we scared him :chicken:
