So you saying the US mini gallon is the way to go when measuring mileage

Yes. Canadian MPG doesn't exist and is a stupid way of calculating it. Your using an american distance measurement, with a canadian volume measurement(that isn't even used anymore). Why not just go gallons per 100 km's? Just as dumb.

Then lets do it right, my 6.7 with an H & S, Banks Ram Air and exhaust at 110 KPH gets 12L/100klm which equates to 24 mpcg or 19.1 mpg which i'm not sure is correct because how can a mile be a mile if a gallon is only 4/5 of a gallon

All this my truck is better then your truck stuff is cool but anyone got any info on the smarty jr programer ? I know this is a 5500 with low gears but my duramax pulls the same trailer with load on it and averages 12mpg. The fargo got 8.6 stock and 8.6 all deleted. Yes the programer is working as i get no cel and runs good have talked to h&s did everything they told me to try. It pulls great but mpg sucks. Another hauler with a fagro at a site told my driver that he was getting 11ish out of his with a smarty jr. Guess its time to try one.

I think you have to get to the root issue. I am getting around 16-17L per 100 kms with my 3500. A programmer and deletes will help a little. But if you are getting that kind of mileage no programmer will help.

Maybe if you had finished grade 12 you would be aware of a unit of measurement called the Imperial Gallon......just sayin'

2010 dodge dually 12-16 mpg pending on what trailer or empty. 2008 single wheel 18-19 mpg with deleted polution stuff. Have had dodges since 1990. I think the days of 20 plus mpg on the cummins disappeared with the 5.9. Does some what suck.

your right no-one has given you a comparo of what your actually running (5500) so maybe try a dedicated cummins forum, lots of the guys in the states no these trucks in and out. And if you havent already try NADP in Edmonton, they might be able to steer you right. good luck

My 2011 Dodge 5500 service truck, with the pee tank, gets about 24L/100 at 110kph, and about 30l/100 at 120.
At 140 on the speed limiter its about 38-40l/100
the truck GVR is 17800lb.. but you hotshot guy pull more then that..

Yeah, I here guys with new dodge truck saying all the time that they get 20 to 24mpg, even had a buddy with an '07 tell me he was getting 32mpg cause thats what his overhead says! lol I have an '06 5.9, 6speed manual, crew longbox that I bought new. I average about 18mpg at 105km/hr, all hand calculated. The best I ever got was 19.8mpg doing 100kmhr with a tailwind, pulling a trailer I'm at about 12-14 mpg. These a imperial gallons. I also have a '98 12valve that I put a lot of miles on. That truck will get me 22mpg quite regularly, but does not have near the power of my '06 for pulling.

I have a lot a friends with new 6.7's that are honest about thier milage, and they are getting 16 to 18 empty, 10-12 pulling.

1150kms with 129l fuel tank.......... 21.01mpg...........thank you very much
Rick....check your math. On the calculator that is 8.91 L/100 km. Get with the times you guys. MPG is a thing of the past. Half of us don't even have a clue how to convert Litres to gallons properly. 1150 divided by 129 =8.91. On my "Fuel Economy Calculator" that I got from Shell 25 yrs ago,it works out to be 31.5 mpg

I think Rick's math is fine your "fuel economy Calculator" is out to lunch.

129 litres = 34 Gallons
1150 km = 714 miles

714 divided by 34 = 21 miles/gallon

You don't need to be to smart to figure this out just need basic grade 3 math. LOL

Unfortunately dividing 129 into 1150 does not give you l/100 km. All that does is give you km driven per liter of fuel. Big difference. Works out to about 11.2 l/100km

Yup. You're right. It's out to lunch. I took my car on a trip a while back and check the overhead display with the slide calculator and they matched. So now I'm not as impressed with the car and my "fuel economy calculator" as it is in the GARBAGE! Thanks 08. LOL
