Hi, we are from Calgary and are just getting into snowmobiling this year. We are a family of 4 (the kids are 12 & 13) and have 3 sleds (2 of the sleds are doubles)
We are all taking the avalanche course in Eckville this coming weekend and we will buy all the proper avy equipment. That being said, I am very nervous and would prefer to avoid areas/trails with avalanche danger. I do realize that being in the backcountry there is always a risk.
I would love to meet other people/families that would like to go out together. We are definitely considered beginner/novice ridders so any advise on what area or trails to venture on would be appreciated. My husband grew up with riding sleds so he would love an area where he can venture into powder but me and the kids are looking at staying on the trails.
