My 09 F150 I drive for Painting does that. If I takeoff fast from the light sometimes clunk. Sounds like it’s missing a transmission or motor mount lol. Cause it’s a work truck. I just keep driving it till she dies. Curious to hear if anyone knows what it is ?

This is a very common issue for 4wd rear leafspring pickups. Pull the driveshaft and grease the yoke slip-spiles.

I describe it as feeling like something is shifting in the bed on accelerating from a stop. When braking the spline extends and binds up lightly. On application of power the spline needs to take up forward rotation of the pinion and it releases with a clunk.

I had this issue and cleaning the splines and re greasing solved it.

In my head
One of 350's had the spline clunk. Cleaning and lubing fixed it. I even bought the fancy Ford PTFE lube.

I used a file to smooth up the splines a bit, cleaned it and then used a synthetic grease. I had to Jack up back end , put it in neutral and rotate driveshaft to get at all the flange bolts
