EZ Ride Suspension

Anyone have one of these skids??????? Pro and Cons what do you think...

They are a lighter weight skid that have a great ride on the trail.If you are wanting one for a boosted sled to keep your front end on the ground they are not so good.

I have a Toms and like it. If I were doing it again I would probably go a K-mod. Only ridden one sled with one on, but it was amazing. Not saying it is better than my Toms, cause never tried it in an XP, but I dont think you could go wrong either way.

Mixed reviews on the ezride. Some like them, some dont. Thing I dont like is having to run your track super tight.

I had one of the older ones and did like the ride but the arms were not that strong and adjusting for ski lift was not easy or fast and really didn't do as well as others.
I now have a K Mod with the raptor shocks on my boosted M1000 and I love it,it is easy and fast to adjust and when running boost I can adjust to keep the skis on the ground.
I have a Racers Edge skid on my boosted Apex and I love this one too.It is easy to adjust and can keep the skis on the ground.
Which one is best,I cannot say both do as they were designed,both are easy to adjust.The Racers Edge is built right here in Alberta.
One of the nice things about the KMod or the Racers Edge skid is they both have kits that will work on your stock skid or you can go all out and use their rails.
You can't go wrong with either of these skids in my opinion.

I have a Holz on my Rev and a Timbersled on my XP. The Timbersled is a al round better skid than the Holz imo

I wouldn't throw out the ez-ride idea dude. I have a 156 Ez Ride under my Impulse race gas turbo Nytro and I run 21PSI with a 2871 garrett all day every day with this set-up! Its over 300hp for sure at that boost. I am a taller rider (6ft 5) and love the ez-ride! The amount of sh#t this skid absorbs will blow your mind! I run the Z-Broz shocks that were custom valved for the appplication and they work amazing. No I might not be able to climb a huge chute like I could if I had the 174 and a M10, but in 99% of the situations it works wicked! I dont know what the mods are to your summit, but I'm guessing it won't be 300HP, but if it is congrats! lol There is a reason most the open mod 2strk King of the Hill champions at Jackson Hole run the ez-rides! It works great if set up and mounted properly, and it will let you blow through some crazy narly crap withy plushness! No offence to the other guys and skids, they all work great as well. Just thought you should have an opinion of a happy boosted EZ-Ride customer.

I had a Ez Ryde in a 146 Doo 1200. It's a nice skid. It weighed around 41 lbs if I remember right.

The ride was ok. It's similar to past Expert X's I've had. Big whoops and stutters it rides nice over. Square edged junk is where this skid falters. It gives a kick in the pants likely because of shock orientation. Skid goes through snow very well and gets up on top..approach angle is really good.

I do not have the skid anymore mainly because of durability issues. In 1200 miles I was on my second set of front shock bushings (install was straight not much misalignment) First ones wore significantly. My other beef was with the rear cross shaft. I had trouble keeping it straight. Constantly bowing. I ended up building a heavier cross shaft out of chromoly and worked better. After owning one, I would have to say it may need a geometry update. To me, it's better suited to machine where the rider is more over the rear shock mount in stead of more rider forward.

I ended up with a Rmotion modified skid built by Tom's Snowmobile. It's had it bugs as it's a real oddball in terms of geometry and is a one off, but we're getting real close. I was a bit of a skeptic of Float's in the skid, but this suspension has changed my mind on that and prefer than over Exit's and Axis shocks I've had in the past...when properly valved and setup

In either case, I've had M-10's, Expert X's, ZX2's, mnay modified SC's and other stock skids. The service from Ez Ryde and Tom's were fantastic. Both answered any questions I had and were very quick to respond.

I have the K-Mod suspension with the Raptor shocks in my Nytro and let me tell you I LOVE LOVE LOVE that set up!!!! If I ever get a new sled that will definitely be one of the first mods I do to it after the Airframe boards of course!!!!
