Extra cooler

I have a 15 pro, with a water to air intercooler. I have the auxiliary cooler for the intercooler running down the center of the tunnel. I'm adding a 3 " track this fall, and I'm wanting to add another cooler, to handle the heat while on the trail. Boost it used to offer a cooler that would be installed in the bulk head, in front of the drivers. What is everybody else using? Where did you buy it, and how was it plumbed in?

why not double up on scratchers? even triple up ( two on the skid on each side and one set on the skis ) instead of plumbing coolers, etc.

Honestly, cause I hate using them, and I always forget them down when I load on my deck.

Depending on on how far you want to go with it there are options. I run a couple of pros with cr tunnels that have way more surface area of cooler and in better location. I also at the time of install used oem assault front coolers and have never had a problem with heat on either one of them. I could melt scratchers off of the rails before I would notice water temp. I guess the biggest questions would be your budget and ability/want to mod the sled that far.

I'm not afraid of a little cutting, however I'm not into a new tunnel. Might look into the assault cooler idea. How did you plumb it in? Boost it drilled a hole in the lower nipple of the coolant bottle, and plumbed in somewhere else, that I can't remember where. Wish I could get ahold of tj.

Tunnel has to be split from bulkhead to fit the cooler in leu of the block off that comes stock in the pro chassis. Plumbing is simple, drill the hole in the extra nipple of the coolant bottle and pull a plug from the head on the opposite side from as the temp sensor and plumb in a npt hose barb. Hoses are preformed Polaris parts and possibly even available from a partout and possibly even the cooler too but most tunnels get sold with them.

You will not be able to run the kakwa trail without scratchers and a 3" track, you will eat sliders like crazy.

Myself I don't like the idea of a bulkhead cooler either, hit a stump or rock on it and punture it and you are done. In that case I would be shutoff valves on the cooler so in the event of a leak it could be topped of water and ridden out, then dump the water before it could freeze.

Shut off's are a great idea, but with that being said I hope that all of us in the back country are crafty enough to be able to widdle a branch to the same size as the hose and clamp them in place of the barb to eliminate the cooler. I have also run both pros in many places and never had an issue but that is not saying it would not happen. Best overall solution..... keep the skis in the air lol!
