Yeah, I am leaning towards doing a 174x2.5 I think for sure. Have to see on the big bore. Definitely spend most of my time climbing in the super tight trees so want to lean that way for setup.

Talked to a good friend of mine that is very knowledgable about 2 stroke engines. He said the 860s that he has seen have pretty sorry porting work. I dont remember exactly what or where......but he was saying that a proper BB porting job would take ALOT of time to do on these engines because it isnt that easy to get at. See what happens in that department though. Might just do the track and call it good. At least its money thats not completely sunk. I can always take it off and put it on the next sled.

Stock for stock I would take my Etec over my Ptek. Everything has pretty much been mentioned, the throttle pull, the fuel consumption, the easy starting.

Fortunately for me, I am a light weight guy and a fairly stock (full exhaust) etec can get me into many places that prototypical sledders on 174's are going into. Can I do it on the first crack? No. But I don't poach lines either to get the job done.

Its amazing how something so little as a light throttle pull can make riding more enjoyable. Nothing against the guys who have spend thousands on mods and trying to get things to work, I don't have the time, or money to put into it. I am more than happy with my etec.

It is also amazing what something like a full skid change can do to a sleds performance. Take a stock 163 etec and throw an M10 into it and its a game changer. Almost like adding 15HP.

The overbores I have ridden are okay, they do have more torque, maybe the clutching was never optimal on them. SO for me, an out of the crate sled that can get the job done without doing any daily tuning to makes me very happy.

Deaner, IMO BB are hit and miss, As of yet I've havn't rode a BB that made me want to drop $$ on one on my 09. My 11 etec has been a great sled and I ordered a xm but I really still like my 09 as well.
