I wasn't planning to get involved in this thread, but do have a question: at a very basic level, is there a difference between the southeners considering black people less human, an object that can be purchased and sold, exploited through forced labor and even murdered without fear of punishment by the law vs the Nazis doing the same with Jews and anybody who didn't share their world view?

Neither is good but trying to eradicate a race of people has to take the number one spot?

Well said. There's a movement out there started by white affluent progressives,supported vocally by non Caucasians of all race,colour and creed. They call it "white privilege".
The insinuation is that white people have achieved their success on the backs of non-whites and don't deserve the comfortable society we have because it's ill-gotten. The white progressives that support this idiotic idea feel guilty and pay lip service to this ideal, but never offer up THEIR wealth or belongings for re-distribution to the downtrodden, but see no problem in giving away everyone else's hard earned assets.
There's an open attack on white western society that has been going on for years and this mess down in Virginia is a fringe group of whites finally having enough and are starting to push back. Unfortunately it's the scumbags in the neo-nazi and white supremacist groups that are doing the pushing.( IMHO, anyone that idolizes nazism and wears a swastika has serious problems).
What white,Anglo-Saxon societies have is better called "white prosperity" we should be proud of the society that has been created and the freedoms we enjoy, all existing because of hard work, sacrifice, self discipline, work ethic and personal initiative.
The indians, blacks, and all other groups that blame others for their situation need to quit blaming residential schools, slavery etc for their situation, pull up their socks,get off their ass and work to improve their life instead of just bitching while they hold out their hands.
Prosperity knows no race,religion, sexual orientation or gender. It's a result of initiative, hard work, and sacrifice.
