engine light ?

well started the 900 up this year and I'm getting a engine code 2 and 4 I think it flashes twice then waits a bit then flashes 4 times what can cause this

Talked to guy at cycle works and he said it can only show one code at a time
So my code is 6 det sensor still not sure what to do

I would think 2 flashes then 4 would be code 24.Code 6 would be 6 straight flashes.

Drain your fuel, fill it up again with 91+ octane and let it run for a little bit. Sounds like you lost some octane in your fuel from sitting over the summer. Take it for a burn if you can to try and clear out the old fuel. That should solve your problem. Engine is just retarding your timing a touch because your det sensor felt some cylinder misfire.

I googled 900 engine codes and found out codes are 1 to 10 so the above is wrong.

"6 Detonation Sensor 6 times This blink code is set if the engine speed is above 6000 RPM and the DET signal is below 1.23 volts or above 4.3 volts for more than 2 seconds" this is directly from the repair manual. These codes are "soft" codes and will go away when the problem is fixed. Check the wiring up to your det sensor to make sure nothing has been broken but if the light wasn't on before you stored it then the chances are slim that the det sensor went on it. Try running fresh fuel through it and it should clear the issue.

I put fresh fuel in it. The problem could be more not sure. In the spring just before I parked I put in a used stator,VR,and ECU it was running when I parked it this thing is starting to piss me off

Ok ran it for a bit and still flashing
Strange thing when I rev it at 3000 it stops flashing
Pulled plugs and changed them changed nothing

Should be clearing itself out and cycling the fresh fuel through. I bet if you give it a little time the light will go out.

No need to change your plugs. Just have a look at them to see if your engine is running a little rich.

It did also flash once or twice over 6000

Checked plugs it's running a little rich
They were black but not covered in soot
And the sled was smoking like a freight train love the smell

That's good. Running a little rich because of the unburned bad fuel. It should definately clear itself just keep cycling the fresh fuel through and the light should go out. Hopefully that helps. Good luck
