How much longer you figure there is decent riding down there?!

There are a lot of variables to be considered. The biggest one is access and some of that is related to grooming. We know that the Coal Creek trail will deteriorate first because of the coal that was spread on the road years ago (really absorbs the sunshine). Saying that, it depends how much snow the groomer operators actually pulled back onto the trail and where they pulled it back. As the trail snow melts, there will be stretches of bare road and then stretches of snow alternating up the trail. It is the stretches of snow that are a problem for trucks and the stretches of bare road that are a problem for the sliders/rails. Coal Creek is sometimes more of a challenge for late season than Morrissey. As the late season continues, trucks can be driven right up to the 50 km marker on Coal Creek and I think that may be into June this year.

Decent riding will last for quite awhile and I am sure that I will get our family mother's day ride in this year and the real die hards will find rideable snow into June.
