Wife and I went for a nice walk into the back of Smith Basin Sept. 1 2012. It was a bit rough through parts of the creek bed. While in there it got a bit nasty with some cold wind and a bit of light snow. It rmed up nice as soon as the sun came back out.No sign of wildlife except the chirp of 1 Pika and a couple ground squirrels on thier mounds.

The trail between the first and second slide heading into smiths basin has a ton of trees on it from the avalanche last winter. Might be tricky getting through this winter

You should carry a chainsaw in with you next visit and clean them up

Haha, ya let's hope so. Sounds like there is snow in the forecast for the mountain passes, maybe we will get some.
