elkford jan 5th

jan 5th trail up was rough but the snow was nice!! a few big slides down be careful in the bowls.

A big thanks to Ferniesnow and Summit1974 for showing us around the Elkford area. It was excellent.

I Would have to say, we got our forecasted 30 cm and then some!

95 riders today, not all in the pic! Snow conditions are low, what fresh snow we got a couple days ago was heavy.

IMHO, we are still below average but there is still some great riding. Rocks are showing more than normal above Mear Lake, there are still lots of stumps in the Bull River cut blocks, but the tree riding is great! We rode before the weekend crowd and the meadow carving and the trees around Mear Lake were Epic Elkford!

After the weekend riders get through with it, I would imagine it would be pretty well used.
