Is this place ok to stay at? It wouldn't be my first choice but it is the only pet friendly place to stay.
Is it clean/comfortable, quite??

Thanks

I had my doubts about it but enjoyed my stay there a few weekends ago. It is older but good food and a good bar. The rooms above the bar are cheaper because of the noise but I never had an issue with it. Friendly people.

The Elkford Motor Inn is the better of the 2 motels in Elkford. Unfortunately it has not had much up grading in all the years that I have lived there and known it however the people are very friendly, the food is great and the bar is perfect after a long day of sledding you don't have to drive anywhere!! The bar up town is great too and a bit bigger also with great food and service...younger crowd up there at the Lamp Lighter. There are 2 other restaurants in Elkford not including the Motor Inn restaurant.

There is a great aquatic centre only a short walk around the mall and through the parking lot from the motor in, it has a nice pool, sauna and hot tub as neither motel have those services. The 2 service stations are great to sledders and you can ride to them and not worry about trailering.

Trail passes are very inexpensive too and available at the service stations.

The rooms at the Elkford Motor Inn have been upgraded or renovated recently (in the last 2 years). It is downtown and central. As jeepchic says, "close to the aquatic center with pool and hot tub". As for other restaurants, there are 2 Chinese (Sunrise, the old Marlin's and C&F, at the golf course) restaurants on the highway, Kapp's Pizza, and the Lamplighter Pub with good bar food. Not all the amenities of a larger center but as T&T Motorsports has coined it, "it is the entrance to heaven!"

found a great little place just on a hill in town, Doug's garage and bar, service so so, ya have to chop your own fire wood for heat, cozy, has great beer and good camaraderie, but he gets bent when ya have to fix polaris sleds, can't say i blame him. hehe

And for those of us that are true winter freaks...we come in from a great 8 hour sled ride, jump in the truck and take the kids skiing/boarding at the local hill in Elkford. Night skiing is cheap less than $20, with 3 lit runs and multiple trails and 1000 verticlal feet runs. Can't beat that either.

Like we always tell everyone....Elkford always has been and always will be the best place on earth for winter and summer fun.
Hence the title
..."WILDERNESS CAPITAL OF BRITISH COLUMBIA!!"

The town folks are the friendliest you will ever find!!
