Rears will work fine but fronts are longer then the xm, they'll have some out on the shelf shortly for the 17
Did you talk to Jake about repurposing and he said he couldn't change the front shock length? Or.did you just decide your going to buy new ones?

Cause to me that's a big deal, if I am dumping 4 or 5 k on top of the line shocks then a guy should be able to roll them to his next couple sleds if he wants to for a couple hundred bucks to.send them back for.a length change.

i went through this same process last yr when i bought my Exit stage 2's... and pulled the trigger on them at the Edmonton sled show... Zbroz gave me the shocks at par on the dollar and shipped the shocks to boost-it so i didn't get stuck with custom's charges. I tried buying raptors at the show, but passed cause zbroz offered me the way better deal.... and i'll go back to zbroz for the shocks for my next sled.
set up was easy, boost it and zbroz gave good instructions and said to call if i'd had issues, i had the shocks dialed in one ride up the renshaw trail...
the difference in performance between the stock and the x2's isn't even comparable....
That would be a sweet deal cause I just priced a full set of x2 for $3500 CAD.

Does ZBroz usually come to the Edmonton show? I might try this tactic, lol.

Got any tips to make this deal happen again?

One thing I liked about ZBroz is that they said if I bought these shocks from them is that the would changed to front shocks length from my XM to fit a gen 4 whenever I decide to upgrade.

How do you add length to a shock?:confused:
shorter sure, but if you put a longer shaft on the shock body will be too short.

Maybe just like fox shocks, remove the internal spacer so it can extend out further? Or compress farther? Can't remember what way it goes. Then add on a shock eyelet that is longer?

Most of the time the internal bumper is small and wouldn't give you more than a 1/4". Plus with less bumper or no bumper you pound the hell out of the seal head every time you unloaded the shock!

if the shaft is longer, you need a longer body to get full stroke length.

Have you ever watched he elka video for how these things go together ? It's like Lego , and they have them apart to rebuild them it wouldn't take much to put a different shaft in or change the tube length.

I was talking with Jake today about a used set of raptors I was kicking tires on and he said he could change the length.....

Yeah I know how they are assembled, your going to need a longer body too is the problem

Boost It said ZBroz has charged them a couple hundred bucks to do a set of four.

Much better than buying a whole nother setup of the same shock.

So if ZBroz can do it.

Jake said Raptor can do it.

I would Imagine Elka can do it.
Should only cost parts and labour.

ZBroz and Elka are both supposed to be at the Edmonton show, I will ask them to confirm.

Yeah there not cheep.... But a solid investment if your planning on keeping your sled for more then a few seasons. ZBROZ always seams to have a small booth at the sled show. Tips... Haha our dollar wasn't 70 cents on the dollar last yr.... I'd just go talk to all the dealers and see who's got the deals....

Few guys in our group have used ENZO and had pretty good success, but they are very expensive. I have used Dave from AE racing in Brooks to rebuild mine and have been extremely happy at a much lower cost. I believe he charges about $125 and set them up for my riding weight etc. Much less fade after getting them rebuilt, apparently the oil that Ski doo uses in them from factory is very very cheap and with how much they heat up causes lots of issues. After trying them most of our group has switched to going to Dave.

I went with elka stg3 ski shocks and stg4 skid, the 3 have piggyback rez but no rebound and stg 4 have the rebound , on my 16 t3 sp the shocks let out pretty early on, the woops would be the worst part of my day and now i just ride them like a race track , no fade , i had a spring rubbing the shock body but they were super quick to replace it and easy tondeal with, definetly a very premium shock!
