On my 13 800 XMX the electrical intermittently flickers or completely cuts out. The sled still runs. The dealer can't isolate the problem being that it's intermittent. My question is will I harm anything on the engine or my TSS turbo kit by running with no electrical. For example if it cuts out for a long period and I need to get out of the backcountry?

If the electrical cuts out how does it run? Biggest concern would be the electric etec oil pump and the oil pump for the turbo.

Good point. Don't want to cook my turbo or anything else for that matter. Hopefully I'll be able to get it to act up at home, I'll carry a multimeter to check components on the hill. Dealer says he's seen something as simple as a faulty bulb create similar problems. I'm going to check all my plugs, including my lights again.

Engine runs but I never actually rode it. I shut it off, fiddled with the DESS & kill switch, got unstuck/ate (yada, yada) fired it up again and the electrical came back on. I rode it out, thawed in shop overnight and no issues the next morning

might not be related but i had a rev that did that once or twice a day and it ended up being a little relay tie wraped just above the air box. it controlled the dess and electrical and was intermittent

Check out the xm forum. I can't pinpoint the thread name but I'm almost certain someone else had this same problem. Don't quote me on it but I seem to remember it being the high/low headlight switch. Did you try disconnecting the blowhole? I thought I saw you installed one.

Have seen this problem quite a bit this year, high/low beam switch has been the culprit more often than not.

It was actually the hand warmer. It overheated and shorted out on the handle bars. New warmer fixed it.
