^^^^^^^^You da man.
Easy peasy with that cord.

Just look on amazon for Generator to Transfer Switch L14-30 Inlet Box Adapter (L5-30 30Amp 3-Prong to L14-30-Flexible).

Manufactured cords and no messing around with plugs and building yourself.
I cant buy the plugs for what they are selling the completed harness for Doug.

This will also give you the exact plug your generator has and not a round ground on the 3 prong.

Retirement eh!
Boy I want that......Do I know how to wire it?
Nope? Cant be that hard?...Just a couple plugs...
Buy it anyways and then scratch head on how I am going to hook up!!!
Dont tell wife about my new delema... Go to S&M members for help......
Spend way more money than you expected, but life is good.
LOL....Love it.....Sounds like a repeat of this household...

Hahaha......................everyday it is just about the same old thing. Putting in a toilet with a 10" set back only the plumber only made it 9 and a 1/2", I could go on and on.

BTW, that cord is now $49 on Amazon. Thanks guys. Excellent.

No worries !
I can’t believe that cord has almost doubled. I looked it up and it was $34 and change when I bought it 3 years ago.
It’s peace of mind to have a proper cord.

Regarding compliance to electrical code overload protection... With this setup could you not draw up to 30A from any one of those 15A rated receptacles?

On the Reliance Controls web site this is what is designated. NEMA 5-15R - Single - Wall-Type [FONT=Roboto, sans-serif]and there are 6 15 amp plug-ins.

I don't know enough about electricity to answer that question. It is a good thought, just the same.

Thats pretty neat.

I would have to say that one plug in, is rated at the breaker amperage thats on the generator. Which is probably 23.3 amps for a 3000w generator.

Doug,
Just look at your generator.
I am pretty sure that the output is protected by 1 - 30AMP circuit breaker. (Where you are plugging into at the generator)

You will then have a shared load over the 6 sockets coming from the generator.
If that makes sense.......
Really doesnt matter.
You now got the goods that you wanted with a couple pretty lights to help you plug things in when needed. LOL

It's fine as long as you don't overload any outlet past 15A. For example consider a multi-outlet extension cord with 2 x 1500W (12.5A) space heaters plugged into it. Plug that cord into your house receptacle and the 15A branch circuit breaker will trip and prevent the overload. Plug it into your generator 6-gang outlet and it will keep running with the 25A current flowing through the 15A rated plug. Something like this can cause a fire.

Does the generator transfer switch not limit each circuit to 15 amps ?
Is each line from the transfer switch hooked up to each plug individually ?
Six circuits, six plugs ?

My transfer switch has a 15 amp breaker on each branch circuit. One set of switches is line or generator, second set are my breakers. It is CSA and UL certified. Electrical inspector passed it . He had to ask what it was lol.
