I don't think any of us knows for sure "what actually happened ". The Victor's write the history books.. Even today, with all the technology we have, it's tough to figure exactly what's going on in the Ukraine.

If there is any solace a lot of times provincial elections don’t align with federal ones. Look at Alberta the year Notley was voted in. Alberta went all blue federally that same year if I remember right. Doug Ford is not very popular right now.
