Hi Folks
How do I know it’s officially gone, because there’s almost 3 inches of ice on the lake at my beach and there was open water on Sunday. It’s been minus F- ing chilly here so makin ice has not been a problem.
Now last year I thought I would resurrect my spot here at SandM but with little to report that was going to be and exercise in futility, so hopefully the white stuff arrives here on Friday and have something to look forward to.
Anyway the Old Guy is still kicking and ready to inform the masses 😉

See you on the trail
Real soon
Don 😎

Hi folks
Well the white stuff landed and not too bad for our first snow fall.
We where on the edge of the big dump and ended up with about 5 inches.
About 4 inches of ice off my beach, not venturing too far until next week.

See you on the trail

Hi folks
Was out fishing off the beach yesterday, was surprised to see we only picked up an inch of ice over the week, lots of overflow. Under the snow. Anyway let’s be careful when venturing on the ice it’s not that thick.

See you on the trail

Hi guys

I was out today doing a trial run pulling the drag with the Geo. Everything went well but we pulled off the trail into the snow and you know the snow about a foot deep. Little surprised after all the warm weather.
But the Lake is not ready for sledding, the Top water is everywhere, I’ve never see it like this in my 42 years here at the lake, my advice is to stay off for now.
I’ll do some testing on Friday
Keep doing the snow dancing folks.
See you on the trail

Don. 😎🇨🇦

My lake also. It snowed too soon after it froze. The snow has insulated ice from the cold and the ice is not getting thicker.

You’re at Fry’s Beach? You’re not too far from my place. I’m in Woodland Bay across the lake to the west.

Mozak’s ??? Not sure if I spelled it right but that’s their street.
My buddy Dan’s got a place there also. I’ve painted a few homes on that Fry Beach Street.

Lake isle today. We had a good bit of snow, but it got soaked up in the slush water. So the lake is a sheet of blue ice. I drilled a hole from the tip of my finger and quite a ways up my forearm. Lake Isle in my bay is 10 inches thick. The top 2 1/2 inches is the snow slush layer which isn’t a perfect ice. It is ATV machine ready. If I had studs in tires, I’d rip this lake. No side-by-sides yet ! As far as sleds, the lake is blue ice top so you would need a tundra track faner to stay cool.
