Always wanted to ride out that way. What is the snow/weather conditions like for Saturday? Also where would be a good place to stage and Ride into?

Thanks.

(A co-worker just bought his first sled, told him I'd take him out riding and show him what not to do.)

The snow is starting to get really good in the Edson and Robb area, there are guys out riding the ditches on 47 and 16. There are rocks in the ditch on 47 so be cautious. I have not heard anything about the trails around Edson, the only thing I did hear is someone decided to run a quad on the trail up to silver summit and made quite a mess of the trail. After the last storm I'd assume the tracks would be filled in.

Right on. Thanks. We still haven't decided Edson, Whitecourt, or local. Doesn't seem to be a whole lot of snow North east of the city.

I was up in whitecourt two weeks ago and the sleds I saw running in the ditches on 32 the snow there looked better that was just after the first major storm we had, with the last storm it should be awesome!

I was out yesterday ditch banging. I wouldn't go anywhere yet. Stay around here, there is plenty. The drifts are huge. Still have to watch for debris and the fields only have about a foot. Some ditches are in the four foot range.

Try the north trail to Silver Summit. The south trail crosses the McLeod river just south of town, probably not too safe yet.

If that was two fridays ago it was us, we were the first tracks in those ditches after that first storm, should be good everywhere around here after this last storm

Groat Creek staging area is open and creeks have been filled in. Good access to Silver Summit from the staging area.

Hey, I think I work with your Dad. Anyway, when I was hunting out there just north of Edson Nov. 21-24th, (about 10-15 min out of town) and it was anywhere from about knee deep to almost balls deep snow. Was a hell of a workout dragging that deer out of the bush a half mile in that stuff! Some of the pipelines in the area have a lot of stumps and junk on them, but there is some of the powerlines that are clear, and pretty wide, that all cut through green land so you aren't trespassing.
