The Edson Rally was great, very well organized, well marked out. Lots of prizes and lots of club volenteer workers in orange shirs. It seemed to go pretty fast there wasn't too many bottlenecks that we had to sit and wait for a while. The new tires are impressive to but I was covered in mud from head to toe they throw mud all over. This time when I got stuck, I was stuck good. I was Impressed with the free hotdogs and pop at the second check in area and the hamberger and pop at the end. The draws went fast the main prize was a kids Artic Cat atv, they could use a PA system to announce the draws.
We arrived on Friday night and it was raining quite hard, and later in the evening the rain let up. The weather was great on Saturday, Sunny and warm. There was quite a bit of mud and muskeg, but most places you had a choice weather you wanted to go through or go around. Good Job guys..

Like Ron said,The Rally was the most organized I've ever particapated in.Very well layed out with a hotdog roast in the middle and they didnt waste any time at the end giving out the prizes..There were plenty of side by sides and even a Tomcar which made it all the way around.Met and had a short chat with the big winner leonard. There was a little bit of everything for everyone.Oh ya and I won a pizza which we picked up from Mountain Steak and Pizza on our way home.
And yes I did blow some stuff up!You will have to ask Ron!

OH .. you didnt mention blowing anything up!
I found out today i poped the clamp off my rear CV boot though (shaft Side).. glad i was in rack deep river water washing the belly pan when i noticed it

hopefully it happend on the last hole of the rally. would hate to have mud packed in it..

i only got acouple good footage on the ride .. wasnt nearly as many mudholes to setup at. and the ones that were there i found no one willing to cross. (muskeg + Mud sucks that way)

Thanks for the comments guys! I'll pass them along to the commitee that makes this show go.

We always hold this rally the weekend after the July long weekend and we always sign the way to the rally from the town of Edson.

The Edson ATV Club held their monthly meeting last night. The meeting became a debriefing of the poker rally, so here are the stats:

Total Riders: 438 registared
Total riders with helmets : 379
Profit (estimated): $9100
Serious injuries: 1 (volunteer on the sweep)(Broken arm)
Winning hand: four of a kind (Aces)
Second place: four of a kind (Tens)
Third place: four of a kind (eights?)
Fourth place: four of a kind (five of hearts)

Planning on our sixth annual rally started last night with discussion of what we can improve and what we felt we did very well.

Most of the profit will be spent on the Southesk Trail, which we stewert. The remainder of the money will be spent on next years poker rally (more/improved camping, bridge replacement, intercom, etc.)

Each of you that attended and provided door prizes contributed to our success. On behave of the Edson ATV Club I thank each of you for your efforts.
