After all the rain we have had out here the last week it will probably be fairly muddy out there, heading out Thursday with some friends we will hit the trail early and see how it looks
Just so everyone knows as of July 11, 2011 the Edson ATV Poker Rally is happening rain or shine! Looks like the weather is going to be nice!!! Here is a link to the weather website. Cheers!!! Weather Forecast: Edson, Alberta - The Weather Network
I'll be heading up with SweetLittleRide and her new XP. We won't be rolling in until just before registration cutoff so we'll probably miss most of you.
The rally was fun but apparently you had to drive like an a-hole on the throttle hard in order to get back by 4 and in time to get your hands in. We left at nine and made the so called 1/2 way point which was 3/4 of the way around by 4 pm. I'm pretty sure there were quite a few who didn't make it back in time for the 4 pm cutoff b.s. Diligently helping others out stuck in them big muskeg holes and an over heating ranger slowed us up a bit also. I will give credit to the volunteers who put in their time and effort for the rally, I heard you were lacking with help in the volunteer department. Better trail signage and making sure that the trails are wide enough for sxs's to go down comfortably would be a suggestion. Most of the blow down that was across the trail could have been cut back a little farther, there were a few tight squeezes.
Looked like it was fun, Got creamed at my soccer game on friday and my knee swelled up like a balloon, Oh well maybe the next one How many people showed up?
I would agree with wheeler on the signage, there was no trail signage just some ribbons in the odd area, I was leading and there was some times I was wondering if I was on the trail. There was a good windstorm a few days before and there was alot of tres on the trail, looks like slot of time was spent clearing the trail. Noticed it was not too wide though. The setup at the start was great alot of prizes and draws as usual. The numbers were down by quite a bit. Thanks to all the volunteers who put this on, we enjoyed our ride
