Edmonton Potholes

Hit a large hole in the road today heading eastbound on 107 ave just after crossing 149 street. I just bought a new 2020 Nissan NV200 van for work, had it since Thursday, it hasn't even hit 750 km. Bent and destroyed both passenger side rims, front strut, bent tie rod. Broke both hubcaps, bent hear hub. Not impressed with city, this was just as you get out the intersection on the inside lane. Looking at the hole one of those stupid trucks that sprays tar then throws some gravel in the hole and done, then it rains a lot and the gravel is washed out because it was put on dirty surface to begin with. Put a claim in with the city today as this will cost $3000 - $3500 to fix.

That sucks! If it’s that big I don’t think it’s a pothole anymore more like a sinkhole. With this covid sucking money up I don’t think our roads will get fixed for a long time

Haven't you heard the news....the city is broke! Donnie Vision has been on every news outlet that will listen to him begging for more money.....

In the meantime, he prefers you take transit or ride your bike....plenty of money for those infrastructures

5+ Billion going into LRT work in the next few years we dont need to pave the roads anymore. joke.

but its not just edmonton, ALberta as a whole is in BAD shape infastructure wise. Just went from Valemount to fort Mcmurray and back, 2000km trip, our highways are embarrassing. I am considering switching to a half ton because my 3/4 ton is getting seriously hard on my back with this brutal roads

Dahm that sucks. I think that’s at least an advantage of having a pickup, a lot bigger tires so risk of damage is much lower. If you want to see some real crazy potholes go on 199 street from 111 age to 118 ave. Some are so deep pickups will catch their diff on them.

How did you bend both front rims on one pothole? Good luck with the city picking that up. We've had lots of customers put in claims, and so far only 1 i know of was partially paid....

You see what the city is doing right? Spend all road repair money on the LRT. Get rid of the dino burning cars and trucks and make everyone buy a bus pass.

Caught both tires in the hole as it was long, narrow and deep, going in wasn't bad it was the sudden instant rise at the end. Tough to see this as your concentrating on going through the intersection, just as you exit, BAM, you see it cant swerve or you hit median or opposing traffic. This is the worst year for potholes Ive ever seen and there not repairing much. 184 street is a mess, but you have time to dodge the big ones. I hit passenger side rims, I'll have to correct that. Bent the front rim bad, tire stayed on but the tire was almost removed from back rim. Its going to the dealer in the morning, they are going through it closely. Hopefully nothing too bad or my insurance will be involved, then I get a first at fault accident on my record in my 35 years of driving and my first flat tire ever.

Yes our roads are getting worse by the day! But highway 11A between Red Deer and Sylvan Lake got new lines painted on it. No repairs to the large cracks and crumbling. Maybe so those folks that wear their beach towels wrapped around their head can see what lane to drive in on their way to the lake?

184 street is one of the most reported streets in Edmonton right now, my cousin is management at 311.
