But remember quads and sleds are luxury item. Fuel has become a staple just like food In a country that is spreadout like Canada many of us are dependant on fossil fuels. I dont have rapid transit where i live and theres no money in agriculture here so i have to drive to work

In theory it would be wonderful, but put the shoe on the other foot, in your world if you wanted to by an ATV it would be a Can Am or nothing else, after all its the only ATV manufactured in Canada. We live in a free country, by limiting what a consumer can purchase you do nothing but drive up prices.
Sorry but most of the Canam line up is made in Mexico .... Lol

It's because she is a "trust fund baby" like Trudeau/../.

I think this guy will be Premiere, next term if Calgary would give him up.

Now why didn't our awesome premier make that speech!

I wonder if antidumping taxes could be imposed on imported oil. They use these taxes against china importing pipe into canada for less than we can make it here ,hurting canadian manufacturers.

your playing with a loaded gun, if you impose import tax's, you have to expect retaliatory tax's on the export of products as well. If Canada puts an import tax on oil, you have to expect other countries to put tax's on our outgoing oil as well as other export products.

Its a complicated game with allot of moving parts, just think, you have Notley to look out for your best interests.

import tax and antidumping duties are not the same. Antidumping is to protect domestic production against cheaper version made in another country at below fair market value. We have many examples of antidumping duties in Canada from Dutch greenhouse peppers, to dairy and windshields from China.

OK checked train journal today on train 102 east bound. All traffic is bonded in Canada. meaning this traffic is going to the USA to Chicago the hub. So it has already passed customs in BC and going east. 10 500 feet of double stack containers. So, USA is getting a slight bonus of traffic. I am also seeing more traffic going west. Long thread so let me tell you that I am a locomotive engineer on CN Rail in case you just got in as I see the movement in the world wide system. Asia is still slow, wood going fast, oil picking up, cars going south, electronis moveing. Lets hope for the best.

So this self imposed recession caused by the socialist, dictator knothead, has dug its claws deeper... More than 500 laid off again at husky in calgary and another 100+ by finning. Although suncor has pushed ahead a large project(which is good news. But, she is opening an environmental office..... Wtf:(

have heard more rumours on fb about esso, shell, and enbridge layoffs looming? Any truth to that?

After I posted the equalization by province map last week, some people asked: "Hasn't Saskatchewan received more than its share of equalization over the years?”

Actually, since the equalization program started back in 1957, Saskatchewan has received less than any other province except Alberta and British Columbia.

Yes, there were a number of years when Saskatchewan benefitted quite a bit from equalization, but in total, Saskatchewan has received about 2% of the equalization dollars paid out, while we have historically had between 3-4% of the population.

Here is a new map showing the total amount of equalization paid out over the years.

I think CP has been busy too. I had 10 sea cans arrive Vancouver almost 2 weeks ago and took forever to get space on the train to go east. They are finally moving.

someone posted this on FB:

"Where is the political outrage over oil imports from rogue nations with inferior environmental records and deplorable behaviours toward women, dissidents and minorities? Where are the beefed up regulatory reviews of Saudi Arabia’s climate change impacts, or their dumping practices? Why is Canada so consumed with scrubbing its oil clean while oil from foreign sources flows into the gasoline tanks of Eastern Canadians free of scrutiny?"
