I picked my truck up from the dealer today...yeah, no fixxy, they told me that they couldn't get it to throw a code, I told them that it only acts up when it's raining or humid...the technician said Ford knows about this and is working towards a fix for it. Just have to be patient...meanwhile I'm going through gas so fast that the bean counters are looking at me sideways thinking I'm selling it on the side... Lol. ( still a fun truck to drive though ). :)

Wish I could handle driving that damn slow
That being said I believe these trucks with the 3:55 rearends are easily capable of the 30mpg claims

Back in the70's we used to tell are then young wife’s that adding horse power or boostwould save money on fuel as they work so much easier.....but when you keepputting your foot in the engine compartment they suck fuel faster then thestock engines.....surprise surprise the same is true today.....potential (drivelike a 70 year old) vs reality (drive like a race car wanabe)...

It’s a shame they cant get it to work better, this tech isn’t new, it has beenin Europe for years, just new to Ford, they should stop trying to reinvent andcopy something that works....

Nope, had you read my previous post, you would have seen that the same driving habits as before when I was getting pretty decent fuel mileage. Tech said that the fuel mileage going bad was because of the air cooler issue. Hell, 2 summers ago when the truck was new, I was pulling my buddies X-Star with his junk loaded in it, had my jet ski in the back of my truck plus a weeks worth of supplies and my family, going through BC on holidays and getting 19 per 100.

FORD circles there mistakes ! last good Ford motor was the 300 six. I got 750,000 on my 86 F250 with a electric towing wrecker in the back. now its retired to a farm moving round bales with the wrecker.

I think a lot of people buying these see a cute little green leaf and the word ECO and are immediately in love with its 'greenness'. It's great advertising/sales strategy.

A friend of mine with one of these struggles to get 17 L per 100 Km. On an good day in my GM 5.3L, ill see 11L per 100 km. It sucks pulling a trailer (5000lb 28 foot travel trailer), but I can't see the Ford being any better.
It works on everything else nowadays, why not vehicles?

See? Warms your heart right?

I love the 'Egoboost' line. I may just act like I came up with that myself, when I am bugging my three out of eight co-workers that have them.

Dads 6.2L Chev will average about 18mpg on highway trips. His last 5.4 would do about the same. Not sure how you guys are ending up with the same mpg as I got with my 2500 6.0 Gmc extended cab long box with 300 pounds of stuff in my tool box.
