For those of you that like to hike and wanted to enjoy a weekend of camping, quadding etc. you should consider grande cache. My wife and I took our kids to eaton falls yesterday for a mothers day hike and enjoyed a beautiful day with scenery to boot...

Grande Cache has an elevation of 4200ft and is on the eastern slopes of the mountains. This is a picture I had taken from my wifes mothers day chopper ride! The second pic is of the sulfur gates, where the smoky and sulfer river join.

If you can get to G.C. from Holmes I'm in for the ride, I've been try to get through for a few years now. Wilmore is off limits, I'd even give up my #1 area at McBride for that trip!!! Even share some glacier ice.

It's pretty much all park.:( We ride with a guy that is over 65 years old, and has lived in Grande Cache since the town was built. This guy can still ride too:eek:; he just bought an 800R this fall. We ran into a guy in the Renshaw this winter that was thinking there was a way across as well. From what I've been told, nobody has been all the way thru from Grande Cache, but there is supposed to be a way across from the Kakwa Lakes.:)

I've heard you can go from the Kakwa to BC. Google Earth makes looking things up so easy, but you still have to figure out where you are.

Is the guy you ride with Gordon? He's sledded from GC to Fox Creek cross country, and I'd love to make the trip in a year with good snow conditions.
He had the GPS way points but lost them. Anybody else have them?
