Early Season Snowpacks

Lots of new snow out there and pics of people already scratching that itch. If you follow the Mountain Information Network at Avalanche Canada, you may also know that there has already been at least one close call with some large avalanches.

Even though its early season, there is enough snow out there to cause some harm.

Thanks for the read Curtis, I always enjoy the amount of detail you go into in order to explain the different snow conditions.

Best to just remember if there is snow, it can slide. I already know of one fatality this year near Bozeman. Yes she was a skier, but avalanches don’t discriminate based on what your doing out there. Just because it’s early, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have your head switched on.
