Yup Sherm and I tapped out this morning that's Prairie cold not for us spoiled Locals....

I'm afraid the old bones don't like that cold anymore, we'll leave it to the youngens for a couple days but I'm guessing there'll be lots of untouched left over. Kinda hard to shred snow when your sitting in a warm cabin all day!!!

When the children struggle, one has to help them out within reason. Not much, to sacrifice the "lending" of a sled.
No no nothing like that I just enjoy the Mrs Ferniesnow moniker but I've certainly never seen Bev with a mustache LOL

Here's a new video. An accumulation of some of our trips so far in the Sicamous area. The old account of "ferniesnow" is active but with a new email address, I couldn't post to it any more. Subscribe to this video to see the rest of the videos throughout the winter,

Very nice video Doug.
Like the tunes. Something differnt.
Isnt it great to ger out and ride with the kids?
You sure picked and epic year to move!

I like how your boy made the power turn and fell off.
I have been having problems like that with the new G4. Taking a little bit to get used to the differnt platform.

Looking forward to your next video in the near future. LOL

Thanks Richard. Regarding the tune, it is Apple generated and one doesn't have to worry about "copy rite" BS. As far as moving goes, yes it is epic. Just what I thought it should/could be. Making videos is fun but it took nearly the whole day to put it all together (I was glad it was too cold to ride). Falling off, and getting stuck is all about talent and to various degrees we all lack in that in some aspects. Of course talent deteriorates as one gets tired and we were bagged in those meadows!

Gonna make a point to meet you this winter. shake your hand, and listen to some of that awesome humor!

Anyone else notice it seems to be the same "group" of sledders that continually put snow reports on here? Are we the only sledders or are others just not willing to share their "finds", but rather just read and use ours. Hmmmmmm, weird, maybe the locals should just come up with their own little chat site and pass our adventures on that way. Sure, I'm grumpy, I've earned it!

Great day up Queest with Billdozer and Mr. Orange, one of the few times we've been up there and had blue sky AND a pile of fresh snow. We didn't have to venture to far from the cabin to get into trouble, just get 3' away from an old track and you can find untracked snow! We hit a couple spots where no one had been for who knows how long, and it didn't take long for us to get tuckered and hit the cabin for lunch. It was after lunch we "attacked the creek bed" and lost, looked like a lawn dart convention. Ever notice how once you start down a trough you can't stop and you keep getting higher and higher on the banks until you crash!! I'd swear we had 3 or 4 weather systems go through by the time we got outta that trench, but it was fun! Thanks guys, another adventure, gonna take a few Advil to shake this one off!:thumbsup2:

Was another great Day ! Ventured up owls played on the cut block left of trail at 16k to get some powder since havent had any for couple weeks ! There was couple ft for sure ! Did few round and headed back to trail , turned off at skyline and headed went down abit and headed left into cut blocks! Alot of untouched to be found , eventually hot back on main trail and headed into first meadow , then went down Billy's trail for abit and got into trees to find great powder !! Played for abit and got back onto trail and headed up into meadows before Ecco , snow was Deep ! Managed get the 74 in a few predicaments, the poo following was in depressant need of a path to follow !lol Made our way up towards the saddle at Eco , but our efforts - well more like our energy ran short of breaking over ! Back to cabin for break and back down trail - well kinda ! Lol still little chilly coming down !

As someone who only makes a handful of trips in a season, I appreciate you locals giving updates. The snow looks amazing and I’ll be down next weekend to enjoy it!

A great day yesterday up in Owl's. We do need another reload but saying that, if one gets deep enough in the trees and off the beaten path there is still untracked snow to find. Nice little climbs weaving through the trees with a great base. Momentum is a necessity but not that difficult to attain with the flotation of the 165's. Jumped off the groomed trail at the Owl's cabin and rode trees/meadows all the way back to the main Blue/Owl's connector. It was an awesome day and full of exploration. The garlic shrimp and scallops were pretty sweet at the cabin for our rest time and recuperation!!

I reminded son #2 about the unsuspecting ditches a couple rides ago and posted the picture with the strap on the ski. Yesterday, a ditch won once again. The youngun's have a hard time learning.........Son #2 zero, ditches two!!

Rode eagles yesterday was great untracked or barely tracked all day and not far from the cabin. Socked in weather kept us to the trees. Snow is starting to setup into some base and was great to get around in bumper to hood deep with traction underneath. Still haven't snapped a single pic all season lol. Had some newbies out on Fly Hills Saturday and tons of snow up there too. Got them into some untracked meadows and the lake had two tracks on it until we went and killed it.

A phenomenal day up Blue Lk way today. Had a big crew, Billdozer, Big O, Josh and Brayden. Braden was kinda the newbie to this kind of sledding so we kept it simple and away from avy stuff. We beat the crap outta Cummings Lk and area, I'm guessing we had 70% untracked snow today, and lots of deeeeep stuff! The snow has definitely set up from our last outing which made it almost hero snow, but that didn't mean we didn't have our stucks all day! Not only did Josh do the flying leap over the bars, Big O nailed a huge stump which sent him flying, that and Braden kept us busy with his unusual stucks on small hills! Mind you, Josh worked over the trees in the area pretty good as well. Great day out boys, to bad we didn't leave anything for anyone else, we tore hell outta that entire area!!!:)

Rode Owlhead today and got an early start. Low on fuel by 2pm and had to call it a day. A thank you to the club for the nicely groomed trails. We didn’t see a single person until we stopped at the cabin on the way out. Fresh tracks all day but the snow was bit heavy, beauty day!
